PROGRAMS AND ACTIVITIES

RPAL offers participants a well rounded mixture of educational, social, and recreational programs and activities:

Basketball, Bicycles, Boxing

Homework Club

Need help with homework? Come participate in our Homework Club. Tutors assist participants with their homework Monday through Friday.
                             


Computer Excellence Center            

Come visit Computer Excellence Center. Youth can participate in our basic computer literacy, repair and service classes. Take part in our computer-based job preparedness training or just utilize our educational software.

Music Recording Studio

Can you rap, sing, or want to be a DJ? Our Digital Audio Recording Studio introduces participants to basic recording and DJ techniques utilizing the lastest hardware and software equipment in the professional music recording industry. We create our own CD's.
          
 

Bike Education Training And Repair (BETR)

The BETR program offers basic bike mechanic skills, bike safety and team work to youth ages 12-17. Youth are taught bike and basic tool terminology, basic math and measurements. Youth go on weekly challenge rides.
Off Roads Program

Sessions consist of 3 Saturday meetings where boys and girls 12 to 14 years old are instructed in safety and riding skills with dirt bikes and atv's.

Scouting

Boy Scouts meet every Thursday from 5pm to 6:30pm. Troop 1 consists of 11 & 12 year olds.


RPAL SPORTS PROGRAMS
Jr. Giants Baseball, a inter city league, is held June through August in three age categories (8-10, 11-3, 14-16). Approximately 400 boys and girls participate.

Basketball,
an in-house league in 3 age categories (8-10, 11-13, 14-16) including state-wide traveling teams. Approximately 350 boys and girls participate.

Soccer, introduces children ages 11-14 to game fundamental participation in PAL tournaments. Approximately 65 boys participate.

Golf, held at the Richmond Country Club, this program is for boys and girls 10 years old and up. About 15 youth participate.

Flag Football, for boys and girls in three age categories (6-8, 9-11, 12-14), this program starts in late September and continues through November. About 160 youth participate.

Track & Field, practice begins in October. Competition begins in February or March and runs through July. About 62 youth participate. Additional fees will apply.

T-Ball and Pee Wee Basketball, for boys and girls ages 5-7. Peewee basketball starts in April and T-ball starts in June. About 120 kids participate.
  
Gym programs are held daily. Basketball, volleyball, badminton, kickball, dodgeball, indoor baseball and flag football are just a few of the programs.
 
Boxing, for boys and girls from 7-18. Monday thru Thursday from 4-6pm. At this time, there is a waiting list.
 
Aquactic Adventure Camp. Two sessions of 2 weeks each are held each summer. The first session is at the end of June and the second is at the end of July. Approximately 35 kids participate in each session.
