CURRENT GRANT PROJECTS

Outdoor Equity

Richmond has been awarded a substantial grant through the California Department of Parks and Recreation’s Outdoor Equity Grants Program. This grant aims to facilitate the expansion of outdoor program accessibility for underserved communities, aligning with Governor Gavin Newsom’s “Outdoor Access for All” initiative, in conjunction with First Partner Jennifer Siebel Newsom and the Natural Resources Agency’s “Outdoors for All” initiative.

A total of 384 applications, collectively seeking $167.78 million, participated in the highly competitive program. Only 125 proposals succeeded in securing funding from the available $57 million. Among the recipients of this grant program are other Richmond-based nonprofits like YES Nature to Neighborhoods and the Richmond Recreation Department.
